The nature of some shoots demand the use of digital cameras, but my preference for my personal work is to shoot film, mostly black and white, with an occasional splash of colour. And I mostly photograph people.
Even though I love the look of photos taken on film, I’m equally attracted to the process. The reassuring weight of leather, wood and metal cameras replaces the immediate feedback of LCD screens. The delayed gratification and excitement of developing film in the darkroom, and holding the negatives up to the light for the first time to see what I’ve captured is a feeling that never gets old. And the magic of seeing a printed photo gradually appear in the developing tray in the glow of the red darkroom lights beats an afternoon spent in front of the computer any day.
If you’d like to work with me or if you have any questions make sure you contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.
